Do you know that one in seven individuals in the United States today has chronic kidney disease?  Genes are known to play a role in kidney disease, however, few large-scale studies on the genetics of kidney disease have been conducted.  This study represents an opportunity to better understand the genetic influences of severe kidney disease.

Researchers at Rutgers University are recruiting 50,000 participants for a study exploring the role of genetic differences, called variants, in the risk of kidney disease.

Findings from this study may lead to improved and personalized diagnostics and treatment.
